We're small, science-led, past MVP, with paying customers in production. /p h3The role /h3 pYou'll own how we build: the deployment pipeline, the testing, the review standards, the architecture. Most of our engineers are in their first or second job, so you're also the senior they learn from. /p pIt's a hands-on role and you'll still write code, but the job is leverage: raising the whole team's output, not only your own. The pipeline works but is slow and too person dependent. Automated testing is early. AI has lifted our velocity faster than our review and quality practices have kept up.



The team is strong but has never had a senior technical lead. The product is live and customers depend on it. /p h3What we're looking for /h3 ul li6 to 8 years building and shipping production software, including time as the senior others relied on. /li liReal backend depth in a modern ecosystem (TypeScript/Node, Python, Java, Go or similar), REST APIs, and relational databases. We run Node/NestJS and Python; you don't need those exact tools, but you should get productive fast and have a view on the rest. /li liYou've led or mentored engineers and raised a team's bar beyond your own work. This is half the job. /li /ul h3You’ll also need, or pick up fast /h3 ul liCI/CD and automated testing at every level (unit, integration, end-to-end). De-risking our pipeline is core. /li liDeploying and operating on cloud, with monitoring and alerts. We're on Azure. You don't need to be an infrastructure specialist, just enough to ship reliably. /li liA working grasp of service-based architecture and its failure modes. /li /ul h3Nice to have /h3 ul liYou use AI across the workflow to raise code quality, testing, and DevOps, beyond writing features faster. /li liPragmatism about process at a small company. You build the right amount, not enterprise ceremony. /li liYou've built data- or calculation-heavy systems where the output has to be correct, not just available: pipelines, models, scientific or financial calculations. You know how to prove a number is right and catch it when it drifts. /li /ul pYou don't need agriculture, carbon footprint, or LCA knowledge; that's our domain and we'll teach you.
