ph3One Postdoctoral Contract PLATO-EXO 2025 (PS- ) /h3pThe IAC (Tenerife) invites applications for bONE postdoctoral contract /b to work on the project linked to the line of research “Helio and astero-seismology and exoplanets search”. The contract is funded by the project “Asteroseismology and Exoplanet science with PLATO and preparations for HAYDN at IAC” (PID NB-C41), led by Drs. Hans Deeg and Savita Mathur. /ppResearch topics at the IAC include most areas of astrophysics: Solar Physics (FS), Exoplanetary System and Solar System (SEYSS), Stellar and Interstellar Physics (FEEI), The Milky Way and The Local Group (MWLG), Formation and Evolution of Galaxies (FYEG), and Cosmology and Astroparticles (CYA-CTA). All of these are supported by an ambitious instrumentation programme. Further information about the IAC's research programme, its Observatories and the 10.4m GTC is available at the IAC's web page: /ppbTasks: /b The successful candidate will pursue research in the following fields: /pulliDetection and analysis of extrasolar planet systems, especially around binary stars. /liliAnalysis and interpretation of photometry from ground and space-based facilities.
/liliDevelopment of analysis-tools for ground-based photometry. /liliThe availability to participate in outreach activities related to PLATO is appreciated. /li /ulpParticular attention will be given to applicants with experience in the field of extrasolar planets and/or binary stars, with emphasis on the analysis of photometric data and planet system dynamics, and the corresponding development of tools. /ppbRequirements: /b The candidates must have an excellent research record, commensurate with the duration of their research career. They must be in possession of a Ph.D. degree in Astrophysics or Physics by the application deadline. /ppApplications from candidates not in possession of a Ph.D. will be rejected without further consideration. /ppCandidates who prepared their thesis at the IAC have to present accreditations of complementary training at other research centers (this period should be either 1 continuous year or 18 accumulated months) by the application deadline.
