ppA temporary opportunity for a bStructural Test Laboratory Engineer /b has arisen within bAirbus in Getafe (Madrid) /b. /p pThe Structural Integrity Test organization (TADAT) is seeking a highly motivated bStructural Test Laboratory Engineer /b to join the bStructural Test Laboratory Systems Area (TADAT2) /b. This role is a fixed-term position to cover an internal paternity leave (19CW duration). /p pIn this pivotal role, you will ensure the success of the Production Planning, Assembly, and Engineering Support domain (one of the fundamental pillars of our organization). You will be responsible for bridging the gap between complex structural analysis and physical validation, ensuring that our testing capabilities meet the highest standards of aeronautical excellence. /p pYou will report directly to the Head of Structural Test Laboratory Systems (TADAT2). /p h3Reponsabilities /h3 h3Laboratory Test Management /h3 ul liWorkload Resource Management: Oversee shopfloor workload, manage laboratory resources, and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery. /li liOperational Oversight: Manage a multidisciplinary working environment involving office-based engineers, workshop teams (mechanical and electrical), and external stakeholders. /li liProject Planning: Prepare internal project proposals, including detailed estimations of time, cost, and resource expenditure. /li liPerformance Monitoring: Monitor adherence to planning targets and implement effective countermeasures in the event of plan/actual variances. /li /ul h3Technical Engineering Support /h3 ul liTesting Scope: Oversee a wide range of structural testing subdomains, including static and fatigue tests, damage tolerance, stiffness, bird impact, dynamic tests, and calibration for in-flight load measurement. /li liDesign Analysis Support: Provide expert technical support to the Structural Design and Structural Analysis departments throughout the entire product development and maintenance life-cycle. /li liManufacturing Services Support: Act as a technical point of contact for manufacturing and services divisions to resolve structural integrity queries. /li liCompliance Airworthiness: Ensure all testing activities strictly adhere to airworthiness regulations, industry-standard testing principles, and internal quality processes.
/li /ul h3Strategic Development Innovation /h3 ul liRisk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for proposed projects to analyze technical and operational feasibility. /li liTechnology Roadmap: Identify emerging technology needs and lead the acquisition and implementation of new projects in alignment with the division’s long-term technology roadmaps. /li liDigital Transformation: Contribute to the evolution of a modern, digitalized working environment within the laboratory subdomain. /li liContinuous Improvement: Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize team efficiency and laboratory throughput. /li /ul h3Skills Qualifications: /h3 h3Education Experience /h3 ul liMaster’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Degrees in Industrial or Telecommunications Engineering will also be considered). /li liProven experience in structural testing environments within the aerospace industry. /li /ul h3Technical Competencies /h3 ul liDesign Modeling: Strong knowledge of airframe and system design details, with advanced proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 (3D Software). /li liMaterials Science: Deep understanding of the behavior and failure modes of both metallic and composite materials. /li liCertification: Solid knowledge of Structural Certification Processes and airworthiness requirements. /li liInstrumentation: Expert knowledge of laboratory systems and instrumentation (sensors, sensing technologies, and calibration procedures). /li /ul h3Soft Skills Leadership /h3 ul liLeadership: Ability to lead multi-program and multidisciplinary activities in a transnational environment. /li liWork Ethic: A highly autonomous, structured, and proactive approach to problem‑solving. /li liCollaboration: Excellent organizational and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise with high-level stakeholders (Airworthiness, Safety, Chief Engineering). /li /ul h3Languages Additional Requirements /h3 ul liLanguages: Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory.
