ph3Job Summary /h3 pAmazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to become part of a global engineering team responsible for the design and continuous innovation of our rapidly expanding data center footprint. /p h3About AIS /h3 pAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS general infrastructure. AIS supports all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep customers continually connected. The team works on challenging problems across supply chain, security, operations, and engineering to deliver the highest standards of safety, security, and cost‑effective capacity. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 h3What You Will Be Doing /h3 ul liDesign data center electrical systems and collaborate with other disciplines to create construction documentation. /li liParticipate in site selection reviews and site planning activities. /li liDesign critical equipment including generators, UPS, MV LV switchgear, transformers, earthing, life safety and fire detection systems. /li liDevelop designs that meet quality requirements and stay within budget. /li liSpecify suitable electrical equipment with regional vendors and manufacturers. /li liDefine site utility needs and coordinate with local utilities. /li liEnsure compliance with IEC, EU requirements, building codes, and local agency regulations. /li liApprove equipment submittals and review construction drawings. /li liDefine project scope and provide technical support for information requests before and during construction. /li liWork with commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems. /li liManage concurrent projects across multiple geographic regions. /li liTravel to sites for reviews, audits, and startup activities as required. /li liLead within the global group and support internal and external teams. /li liProduce creative, out‑of‑the‑box solutions.



/li /ul h3A Day in the Life /h3 pAs an Electrical Engineer on the team, you will design robust electrical distribution systems to ensure world‑class uptime. Your day may include drafting design specifications, reviewing technical drawings, collaborating on equipment qualifications, conducting site inspections, responding to design queries, and presenting work to stakeholders. You will transition between desk‑based design and on‑site activities to ensure seamless translation from concept to construction, while exploring new technologies and construction methods that can improve facility operations. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering. /li liKnowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment. /li liExperience in data center design, construction, operations or facility maintenance. /li liExperience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, oil and gas, etc. /li liExperience researching new designs, technologies and construction methods for data center equipment. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liProfessional Engineering or Architectural license. /li liKnowledge of building codes and regulations for your region. /li liExperience applying design concepts from exploration through deployment or mass production. /li liExperience reading, interpreting and creating construction drawings, specifications and submittal documents. /li /ul h3Equal Employment Opportunity /h3 pAmazon is an equal‑opportunity employer.
