This role owns the operational integrity of network platforms across their full lifecycle, ensuring services are secure, highly available, and aligned with business SLAs. /p pActing as the escalation point and technical leader, the Principal Network Service Engineer bridges design, delivery, and operations, translating complex incidents and operational learnings into measurable service improvements. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liNetwork Service Ownership /li liAct as service owner for core network platforms (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity) /li liEnsure services meet defined SLAs, OLAs, availability, and performance targets /li liOwn and evolve support models, runbooks,
and operational standards /li liDrive consistency and quality across integral or multi-site network environments /li liOperational Excellence Stability /li liServe as the highest technical escalation point for complex network incidents /li liLead major incident response, technical triage, and resolution /li liConduct and own root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical issues /li liIdentify systemic weaknesses and drive preventative improvements /li liContinuous Improvement Automation /li liTranslate incident trends and service data into proactive improvement initiatives /li liChampion monitoring, observability, and alerting enhancements /li liDrive adoption of automation and self‑healing mechanisms where applicable /li liReduce incident volume and mean time to restore (MTTR) over time /li liTechnical Leadership Governance /li liProvide operational input into architectural designs and new solutions /li liValidate that new network services are operationally supportable before go‑live /li liDefine and enforce operational standards, tooling, and documentation /li liMentor senior engineers and act as a technical role model within the service organization /li liVendor Service Partner Management /li liTechnically manage managed service providers and network vendors /li liChallenge vendors on incident handling, RCA quality, and service improvements /li liEnsure vendor solutions align with internal operational requirements /li liService Transition Lifecycle /li liEnsure complete documentation, monitoring, and support readiness /li liManage service lifecycle activities including upgrades, decommissioning,
