ph3Software Asset Management Analyst /h3 pAs a Software Asset Management Analyst you will have the opportunity to play a central role in managing and optimizing software licensing across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid IT environments. You will collaborate with major enterprise vendors, internal stakeholders and external partners to maximize business value, ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liServe as the subject matter expert for Software Asset Management (SAM), providing guidance on complex software licensing topics and producing Effective License Positions (ELPs). /li liManage and optimise software licensing for major vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, Broadcom, IBM, SAP and Red Hat, ensuring compliance and maximising business value. /li liInterpret and apply software licensing concepts across modern technology landscapes, including containers, cloud platforms and traditional infrastructure. /li liLeverage data from enterprise systems (Azure Active Directory, CMDB, My Access, Intune) to support software asset management, billing, cost allocation and reporting. /li liEnsure transparency of software‑related costs by managing chargeback processes and enabling fair cost allocation to Business Units and Service Owners. /li liBuild and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and vendors, leading negotiations and driving mutually beneficial outcomes. /li liIdentify, develop and implement initiatives that generate software cost savings, mitigate compliance risks and enhance SAM processes, controls and best practices.
/li liLead and support complex software contract negotiations (demand management, renewals and amendments) in collaboration with sourcing, procurement, legal and vendor management. /li liSupport implementation and continuous improvement of global SAM standards, governance frameworks, controls, reporting capabilities and performance metrics. /li liDrive innovation within SAM by leveraging AI and automation to reduce manual effort and uncover optimisation opportunities. /li liContribute to day‑to‑day operations and strategic initiatives of the integral SAM team, ensuring delivery of high‑quality services and continuous operational excellence. /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications Skills /h3 ul li3+ years of proven experience managing a software portfolio for at least one major publisher in an enterprise environment. /li liExperience creating fully optimized ELPs from data collection to completion. /li liStrong understanding of license restrictions, benefits and optimisation opportunities. /li liProficient use of SAM tools (ideally FlexeraOne) and supporting data sources. /li liAdvanced Excel skills (V/HL‑lookups, pivot tables, complex calculations). /li liTrack record of adopting and embedding AI solutions in SAM operations.
