No /p h3Offer Description /h3 pThe Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), in collaboration with RMIT University, is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the bAuSpire Program /b. /p pThe bAustralia-Spain Network for Innovation and Research Excellence (AuSpire) /bis an ambitious, interdisciplinary program co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement Nº that links Spanish and Australian research communities through b28 Postdoctoral Fellowships /b . Centred on the concept of bPlanetary Wellbeing, /b AuSpire aims to address integral challenges by fostering research with bmeaningful, positive impacts /b on the planet’s inhabitants and ecosystems. /p pThe successful candidates will be bemployed in Spain /b by renowned companies, research centres, and universities for b36 months (3 years) /b and benefit from international and/or intersectoral co-supervision andb secondments with counterpart organisations in Spain and Australia for up to 12 months /b of duration. /p pbThe expected candidate profile for the position has: /b /p ul liStrong background in population or comparative genomics (5 years or more). /li liMinimum of 6 publications. /li liMinimum of 2 or 3 publications as first author in relevant journals in the field. /li liProven ability to work within a team. /li liExperience mentoring students, excellent presentation skills, independent thinking. /li /ul pLanguages ENGLISH Level Excellent /p h3Additional Information /h3 pbWhat we offer: /b /p ul liabfull-time employment /bcontract in Spain forb36 months (3 years)



/bwith attractive salaries including social security benefits. The salaries offered by AuSpire are above the average salary for postdoctoral researchers in Spain. You may find an estimation of your gross annual salary in thePosition Description (the definite amount to be received by the Postdoctoral Fellow is subject to Spanish tax legislation). /li lib4.000 EUR relocation for employment stipend /bto cover costs associated with taking up employment (flights, visa, insurance, etc.), to be distributed monthly as a top-up to the gross salary(1) /li lib9.000 EUR relocation for secondment stipend /bto cover compulsory project-related travel and accommodation costs (flights, visa, insurance, accommodation, etc.)(1) /li lib314 EUR monthly family allowance /boffered to candidates who meet the criteria(1)(2) /li lib3.000 EUR travel stipend /bto cover flights and accommodation for participating in compulsory AuSpire training and networking events in Spain over the 3 years.(1) /li liInnovative projects of high societal and commercial value in a uniquebinternational research environment and multidisciplinary network /bof researchers and chief investigators from leading industries, research centres and universities. /li liUnique training inbPlanetary Wellbeing /band the opportunity to shape your research to offer true value to society and a positive impact on our planet’s inhabitants and ecosystem. /li /ul p(1)The definitive amount to be received by the Postdoctoral Fellow may be subject to Spanish tax legislation. /p p(2)According to MSCA-COFUND requirements, Fellows with family obligations are entitled to a family allowance (i.e. persons linked to Postdoctoral Fellow by (i) marriage, or (ii) a relationship with equivalent status to a marriage recognised by the legislation of the country or region where this relationship was formalised; or (iii) dependent children who are actually being maintained by the Postdoctoral Fellow).



/p pAuSpire is open to excellent researchers of any age, nationality, and gender.Applicants mustbfulfil ALL the following minimum eligibility criteria /bat the date of the bcall deadline 07 September 2026): /b /p ul liMSCA academic requirements: Applicants must be in possession of a bdoctoral degree at the call deadline /b. If you have successfully defended your thesis but you have not yet been awarded your PhD degree at the time of the call deadline for applications, you must upload a provisional degree certificate from your institution. The bsuccessful defence must be unconditional /b (no further requirements/corrections that need to be addressed) band take place before the call deadline /b. Supporting documentation may be requested. /li liMSCA mobility rule: Applicants can be of any nationality and theyb must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary or implementing partner – Spain, including its overseas territories – for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the deadline of the co-funded programme's call /b(i.e., since 07 September 2023). The country of the main activity refers to the country where the researcher is physically based when carrying out the main activity and the country of the institution for which the main activity is performed (e.g., employer) /li liMSCA employment rule: applicantsb must not be already permanently employed by your chosen Employing Entity. /b /li liMSCA exclusive dedication rule: applicants must be available tobwork full-time and exclusively for the action /band cannot benefit from another Marie Sklodowska Curie Action during the employment time. /li liEnglish proficiency(1):bapplicants must have a demonstrable C1 level of English /b(both speaking and writing). In the absence of a recognised certificate, English proficiency will be assessed based on the level of the written project proposal and during the interview. /li /ul p(1)Native English speakers are exempt from this requirement. /p pAdditional comments /p pThe remuneration, in line with the European Commission rules for Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant holders, will consist of a gross annual salary of 40,000 EUR.
