In this role you will support welding activities for structural rail components, combining deep welding expertise with knowledge of railway standards and quality requirements. You will work across cross-functional teams to develop welding procedures, optimize parameters, and ensure compliance with EN 15085 and ISO 3834. You will also guide production sites on welding technologies and drive continuous improvement. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge welding tech in a multinational rail and automotive context, with meaningful impact on safety and quality.
Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Support feasibility assessments for welding during RFQs and project phases
• Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and qualifications
• Define and optimize welding parameters with production teams
• Ensure compliance with EN 15085 and ISO 3834 and customer requirements
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshoot welding issues
• Lead root cause analyses for defects and support continuous improvement
• Define inspection and testing plans and support audits and certifications
• Guide production sites on welding technologies, industrialization, and best practices
Responsabilidades
• Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Science, or related field
• Certified Welding Engineer qualification (IWE/EWE)
• Extensive hands-on welding experience (MIG, TIG, FSW), preferably in rail or aluminium
• Knowledge of railway welding standards and quality requirements
• Understanding xqbhyrx of aluminium materials (especially 6xxx alloys) and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
• Fluent English; German or French an advantage
