ASFD is building a dynamic, technology-driven working environment that supports digital transformation while keeping people and collaboration at the center.We are currently hiring for Building Physics Engineers across multiple seniority levels, from junior level up to Lead:Building Physics EngineerYour Role- Support the engineering design of state-of-the-art and bespoke cladding systems.- Engage with Clients, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders as part of the project team.- Deliver building physics assessments across diverse projects, from design conception through to detailed design stage, including thermal, condensation and acoustic assessments.- Conduct thermal and acoustic reviews to support design development.- Review specifications and identify technical risks and opportunities.- Assist in the management of RFIs and change control processes.- Produce high-quality calculations, templates and technical reports.- Contribute to the continuous improvement of system details, design processes and engineering tools.- Support the preparation of performance test method statements and fire assessments.- Share knowledge and support the development of junior engineers and graduates.- Attend design workshops with multidisciplinary teams.Your Skills- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree advantageous.- Experience in the cladding industry is preferred.- Proficiency in thermal analysis, condensation and acoustic assessment tools.- Knowledge of glass performance requirements and façade system behaviour.- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and develop engineering solutions.- Proficiency using CAD software.
Experience with Revit and Inventor advantageous.- Experience using project management and scheduling tools.- Knowledge of building regulations, CWCT guidelines and relevant standards.- Quality-driven engineer with strong attention to detail.- Team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.- Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented attitude.- Motivated professional with willingness to travel.- Fluent in English.Building Physics Engineer LeadYour Role- Lead the engineering design and technical delivery of state-of-the-art and bespoke cladding systems.- Act as the Building Physics technical lead across multiple projects, providing expert guidance on thermal, acoustic, condensation, corrosion, fire and related façade performance requirements.- Engage with Clients, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders, representing the business as a trusted technical specialist.- Manage and oversee building physics deliverables across diverse projects, from design conception through to detailed design stage, including thermal, acoustic, condensation, corrosion, fire and related façade performance assessments.- Lead and provide technical governance for building performance assessments and reviews, including thermal, acoustic, condensation, corrosion and fire performance, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards and project objectives.- Review and approve building physics calculations, reports and technical submissions prior to issue.- Interrogate specifications and assess technical and commercial risks and opportunities.- Lead the management of RFIs, technical queries and change control processes.- Develop and maintain high-quality standards, templates, methodologies and reporting tools.- Drive continuous improvement of system details, design processes, calculation methods and engineering tools.- Contribute to performance test strategies, method statements, fire assessments and façade performance evaluations.- Manage the allocation and prioritisation of building physics resources across projects.- Mentor,
coach and support the professional development of engineers and specialists.- Support recruitment, onboarding and capability development within the engineering team.- Lead design workshops with multidisciplinary teams and facilitate technical decision-making.- Contribute to departmental strategy, innovation initiatives and best-practice development.- Define façade performance testing strategies and provide technical leadership for laboratory and on-site testing programmes.- Review, approve and interpret test results, ensuring findings are incorporated into design development and risk mitigation strategies.- Lead technical engagement with test houses, consultants and certification bodies.- Support the development and approval of performance test specifications, method statements and acceptance criteria.Your Skills- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.- Chartered Engineer status or membership of a recognised professional institution preferred.- Significant experience in building physics and façade/cladding engineering, including leadership of complex projects.- Advanced proficiency in fire, thermal analysis, condensation and acoustic assessment tools.- Strong understanding of glass performance requirements and façade system behaviour.- Proven ability to review, challenge and approve technical solutions while balancing performance, risk and commercial considerations.- Strong understanding of façade testing standards, performance verification and certification processes.- Experience planning, witnessing and assessing façade performance tests.- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex engineering challenges.- Proficiency using CAD software. Experience with Revit and Inventor advantageous.- Experience with project management, resource planning and scheduling tools.- Thorough knowledge of building regulations, CWCT guidelines and relevant standards.- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and leading multidisciplinary teams.- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project risk management.- Quality-driven engineer with a passion for excellence and exceptional attention to detail.- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and client-facing skills.- Motivated professional with willingness to travel.- Fluent in English.#J-18808-Ljbffr
