It analyzes how to transfer social norms, values, and cultural contexts between languages, addressing transcreation, accessibility, and the cultural impact on communication. Its core concept is culturemes (also called cultural referents or realia), which constitute one of the most dynamic pillars of current translation studies. It is defined as the study of semiotic units that possess a specific cultural meaning and lack an exact equivalent in the target language. /ppThis research area is primarily organized around three fundamental axes: /pp1. Conceptualization and Classification /ppThe research seeks to categorize culturemes to facilitate their analysis. /ppb2. Translation Strategies and Techniques /b /ppThis sub-area analyzes the decisions translators make when faced with a cultural "gap." Proposed strategies and techniques are studied. /ppb3.
