IT RISKCI180123 - IT RISK CHAMPION SERVICE

The IT Risk and Compliance analyst is an extension of the core IT Risk management function and can communicate risk information, influence risk culture and behaviors. In addition, they can report back to the risk management team on areas for improvement such as what frustrates staff in relation to the risk management approach and help overcome some of the challenges faced.
AN IT RISK AND COMPLIANCE ANALYST SHOULD:
Help the unit to fix vulnerabilities in OWASP Top 10 and related technologies like Linux base OS,
databases etc.
Act as a translator between risk management and the technicians
Follow up the status and deadlines, follow up with the technicians
Build a risk-aware culture within the organization including appropriate education
Provide guidance to IT risk manager on the best way to implement risk management in specific
areas of the business and at what pace
Be able to explain Risk issues to non-technical, business people like Product Owners.

AN IT RISK AND COMPLIANCE ANALYST WOULD THEREFORE BE RESPONSIBLE TO:
Closely follow-up of IT Risk & iRisk linked with the assets




Provide an iterative roadmap to POs for IT Risk to achieve the IT Risk appetite.
Keep the alignment with the different SPOCs in the squads
Help the teams with questions resolution and escalation of problems and blockers.
Identify issues and their resolution with the business areas within agreed timelines.
Identify, report, communicate and escalate out of compliance assets
Manage the resolution of agreed exceptions with the business areas and stakeholders within
agreed timetables.
Communicate to the squads the appropriateness and completeness of the evidence to be
provided before submission.

IDEALLY, THE IT RISK AND COMPLIANCE ANALYST WOULD:
Have knowledge about frameworks like ISO 27k, NIST, COBIT etc.
Have knowledge about standards like GDPR, HIPPA, PCI-DSS, SOC etc.
Have knowledge about Risk processes on different infrastructure on premise, private and public
cloud

- To ensure process compliance in the assigned module, and participate in technical discussionsorreview as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
- To be responsible for providing technical guidance or solutions ;define, advocate, and implement best practices and coding standards for the team.
- To develop and guide the team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity




- To prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations.
