EIT Food headquarters (HQ) are based in Leuven (Belgium) and it has 5 regional offices (Co-Location Centres or CLCs) in Europe (based in Poland, Spain, Germany, the UK and Belgium), each working with and for partners in several EIT Food partner countries.

The contract will be fulltime, with a 6 months probational period. Employment contract under the Spanish labour law.

LOCATION & TRAVEL FREQUENCY

(S)he can be based in the EIT Food South office in Bilbao.
Business travel (approx. 3 days per month) within Europe can be expected.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Specialist will be responsible to manage and implement EU funded projects in the field of innovation & agrifood sector . He/she will also assist in the development of commercial exploitation actions and business support activities within the portfolio of projects and liaise with key stakeholders in Southern Europe to perform initiatives at the highest standards.

You will be responsible for:

- Project coordination, ensuring to comply with project deadlines and budget rules, monitoring project milestones and KPIs and adopt corrective measures as needed, as well as providing technical and financial reports required by the Programme in a timely manner through the whole project cycle.
- Implementation of project related tasks
- Technical reports production,



events/meetings organisation and coordination/communication with consortia partners amongst others; providing a full overview of activities progress and performance periodically.
- Support on the deployment of an IP and commercial exploitation strategy developed for project partners and other relevant stakeholders. This will specifically include frequent communication with partners and subcontractors, gathering knowledge of food side-streams valorisation, new ingredients, processes and technologies, and working crossfunctionally to ensure project success.
- Detect and analyse new opportunities of collaboration within the EIT Food South ecosystem for EU funded projects. Preparation and submission of new proposals and communication with coordinators and consortia.
- Collaborate with other functions in EIT Food South: regional programme managers, ecosystem managers, communication team.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Qualifications and experience:

- Academic degree in a relevant discipline primarily related with food & agriculture, innovation management, or business development e.g. food technologist/engineer, agronomist, nutritionist, other sciences, business administration/marketing.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience related to project management, business management/ consultancy/ commercialisation/marketing.
- Expertise and experience in the food sector is a clear plus.
- Experience working with Research & Innovation EU funding; Horizon Europe, Interreg or Europe Structural Funds is needed.
- International exposure and experiences in working with stakeholders in Southern Europe and international organisations.
- Fluency in English and in Spanish. Additional Southern European languages will be considered.
