We are supporting a leading integral financial institution in the search for a BI and Data Analytics Engineer to join their Data and BI team within the FX domain.
This is a hybrid role combining business intelligence expertise with hands-on data analytics and cloud-based engineering capabilities. The position offers the opportunity to work in a highly data-driven, regulated environment, contributing to scalable and reliable analytics solutions that support trading and financial decision-making.
Role Overview
You will play a key role in designing and delivering BI and analytics solutions while ensuring strong data quality, governance, and end-to-end data workflow management. This position sits at the intersection of business and technology, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions.
- Translate business requirements into data models and technical solutions.
- Perform advanced data analysis using SQL and Python.
- Implement data quality checks, reconciliations, and root-cause analysis.
- Automate reporting and validation processes.
- Work with diverse data sources including databases, APIs, and data lakes.
- Support BI integration with AWS-based data platforms.
- Collaborate with data engineers on pipelines, models, and data architecture.
- Document data definitions, workflows, and reporting logic.
- Ensure solutions meet standards for control, auditability, and governance.
Data Quality & Workflow
- Improve and monitor end-to-end data workflows.
- Implement validation rules and data controls.
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues.
- Support data governance, lineage, and ownership practices.
- Promote automation and reduce manual data handling.
Required Skills
- Experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Strong understanding of KPIs, metrics, and data visualization best practices.
Data & SQL
- Advanced SQL and experience working with large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Python
- Proven experience in data analysis, automation, and validation.
- Familiarity with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, or PySpark.
- Experience with AWS data services (e.G., Athena, Glue, QuickSight, SageMaker).
- Understanding of cloud data architectures and data lakes.
Domain Knowledge
- Experience in financial services, ideally within markets, FX, trading, or risk.
- Familiarity with regulated environments and data governance practices.
Profile
- Mid to senior level professional.
- Strong technical and analytical mindset.
- Comfortable working across business and engineering teams.
- Able to work independently and handle complex data challenges.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data quality and control.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to FX or electronic trading environments.
- Experience with tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, or Airflow.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, or data governance frameworks.
