Overview
Factorial is looking for an Engineering Manager to tackle complex domain challenges and advance product development with AI as a core part of the product. The role requires leading a team while being accountable for product health, scalability, and evolution.

Responsibilities
- Lead and grow your team of engineers, focusing on career development and maintaining a healthy team culture.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and talent acquisition for the engineering group.
- Collaborate across teams to contribute to platform and service foundations.
- Engage in Socratic discussions that focus on finding the best solution.
- Define and refine product roadmaps, review RFCs, and propose new ideas.
- Hold weekly meetings and 1:1s to discuss development and well‑being of team members.
- Coordinate initiatives with other engineering managers that impact multiple teams.
- Guide engineers in reviewing, validating, and safely deploying AI‑generated code and behaviors.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a full‑stack engineer (or similar role).
- 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong experience designing APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc.) and building integrations.
- Experience in scalability, performance, and quality considerations in production systems.
- Background in AI‑powered product development, including building or contributing to production AI features or workflows.
- Familiarity with modern AI development practices such as spec‑driven development, evaluation frameworks, agentic workflows, and human‑in‑the‑loop systems.
- Ability to use AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity and guide safe deployment.
- Understanding of LLM risks (hallucinations, evaluation challenges, data sensitivity).
- Experience encouraging rapid experimentation, iteration, and learning loops within a team.
