Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior SAP EDI Project Manager to lead and govern SAP EDI-related projects and initiatives for a global manufacturing organization operating across the EMEA region. The role requires a unique blend of project management, SAP integration expertise, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership. The resource will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving successful delivery of SAP EDI initiatives involving suppliers, customers, tax authorities, middleware platforms, and business stakeholders.

Location & Engagement Details

- Location: Madrid, Spain
- Work Model: Minimum 2 days per week onsite in Madrid
- Duration: October 2026 November 2027
- Travel: Occasional travel within EMEA region
- Language: English (mandatory); Spanish preferred but not mandatory

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

- Manage multiple SAP EDI projects and initiatives from planning through deployment.
- Lead cross-functional teams across business, application, integration, architecture, and support functions.
- Drive project governance, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
- Ensure delivery against agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality objectives.
- Manage project dependencies and coordinate activities across multiple workstreams.
- Prepare status reports, steering committee updates, and project documentation.

SAP EDI & Integration Governance
- Lead implementation and enhancement projects involving:

- B2B integrations with customers and suppliers
- B2G integrations with tax authorities
- Electronic processes such as e-Invoicing, e-Ordering, e-Dispatch, e-Transport, e-Signature, etc.
- Coordinate solution delivery involving SAP and middleware teams.




- Support estimation, planning, budgeting, and technical assessments.

Stakeholder & Team Management
- Collaborate closely with PMO, business teams, architecture teams, and application managers.
- Manage communication with regional and integral stakeholders.
- Drive workshops, project reviews, training sessions, and project governance meetings.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Project Management

- 10+ years of SAP project delivery experience.
- Proven experience managing large SAP implementation or transformation projects.
- Strong project planning, governance, risk management, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience working in multinational and multicultural environments.

SAP & Integration Expertise

Candidates must demonstrate strong understanding of:

- SAP EDI
- SAP SD (Order-to-Cash)
- SAP MM and FI integration concepts
- SAP ABAP integration concepts
- IDocs
- Web Services/APIs
- SAP Process Orchestration (PO) and/or SAP CPI
- B2B/B2G integration projects

Communication & Leadership
- Strong client-facing and executive communication skills.
- Ability to lead global virtual teams.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Highly proactive, flexible, and delivery-oriented mindset.

Desirable Skills

- Experience with SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Exposure to MuleSoft integration platform.
- Knowledge of VAN providers such as EDICOM, COMARCH, ECOSIO, TRADEX or similar.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction materials, or industrial sectors.
- Spanish language proficiency.
