About the Role:

Supervises Surety Underwriting Support staff to ensure a balanced, profitable and quality book of business. Collaborates with management to develop and monitor operating and quality standards for unit. Responsible for coordinating and administering support functions within an assigned office(s). Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal policies. Supervises staff and collaborates with management on hiring, training/development and evaluation/adjustment of performance. Ensures Underwriting Assistant staff develops and maintains business relationships with Surety underwriting, internal service partners, and external clients.

About the Department & Team:

The Surety Underwriting Support organization is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and execution of underwriting support operations across the Surety business. The team drives operational excellence through standardization, workforce development, quality management, process optimization, and technology enablement. As a key component of the Surety Office of Operations, the organization collaborates across underwriting, operations, compliance, and technology functions to enhance customer experience, improve productivity, mitigate risk, and support profitable growth globally.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise, develop, and coach a team of Underwriting Assistants responsible for bond processing, global bond registration, contract bond requests, and administrative support functions.
- Manage workflow distribution, work prioritization, productivity, and performance to ensure timely and accurate completion of operational activities.
- Monitor operational,



quality, and performance standards while supporting internal and external customer service objectives and reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to established processes, procedures, policies, and quality standards while identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement and workflow efficiency.
- Perform and oversee bond processing transactions, reconciliation activities, and issue resolution to maintain operational accuracy and compliance.
- Partner with leadership and stakeholders to support training, system utilization, operational consistency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor producer premium receivables, collaborate with agents and brokers as needed, and escalated collection concerns in accordance with company guidelines.
- Support talent management activities, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, employee development, performance evaluations, and career growth planning.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute operational reports, performance metrics, compliance reporting, and management information to support business decision-making.
- Lead or participate in special projects, operational initiatives, and business improvement efforts that enhance service, efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.

Skills and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.




- Experience managing administrative or operational support teams, with progressive growth and experience within Surety preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and evaluate high-performing teams, including employees located across multiple offices or regions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information, influence stakeholders, and build effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced knowledge of interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development capabilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 5% as business needs require.
- Fluent in English and local language
