Lead a committed collections team across Continental Europe to optimize cash collection and credit risk. Collaborate with Finance, underwriting, operations, and claims to resolve complex queries and maintain high service standards. Assess new customers' credit risk, monitor overdue and aged debt, and report on risk distribution monthly. Based in Barcelona or Madrid, you contribute to Sompo's profitability and customer-focused mission while shaping credit control practices.
Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Create and manage a collections team in Continental Europe
• Organize and control accounts receivable processes and cash collection, including co-insurance remittance
• Serve as referral point for complex queries to Finance, underwriting, underwriting operations and claims
• Monitor overdue and aged debt; initiate appropriate actions
• Monitor bad debt and take corrective actions
• Prepare monthly targets and analyze monthly results
• Develop high-quality credit management techniques
• Support Head of Finance Operations and senior management
• Assess credit risk of new customers and provide monthly risk reports




• Maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers
• Ensure effective communication and adherence to service standards
• Model assertive, proactive engagement with client/credit matters
Responsabilidades
• 5+ years in a similar role within the Insurance/reinsurance market in Continental Europe
• Experience in insurance sector credit control, especially co-insurance
• Knowledge of technical and accounting procedures and credit control
• Understanding of service standards, terms of trade, and audit guidelines
• Experience with Aged Debt Reporting and analysis
• Proficient Excel skills xqbhyrx (including macros)
• Strong grasp of co-insurance processes and systems
• Ability to work on own initiative and challenge procedures
• Strong technical credit control skills
• Knowledge of Insurance and Reinsurance products in Continental Europe (advantage)
• English essential; Italian or French an advantage
• SOX awareness desirable; association with Chartered Institute of Credit Management desirable
