In this role you will lead the Continental Europe credit control hub from Barcelona or Madrid, directing collections, credit risk assessment, and debt management. You will partner with finance, underwriting, operations and claims to resolve complex queries and drive cash collection while safeguarding profitability. You will develop and apply high-quality credit management techniques and report on risk and performance. This is a hands-on leadership role in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with a clear impact on client service and financial outcomes.

• Create and manage a collections team in Continental Europe
• Organise and control accounts processes and cash collection, including co-insurance remittance
• Serve as referral point for complex queries across finance, underwriting, operations and claims
• Monitor overdue and aged debt, taking appropriate action
• Monitor bad debt and take corrective steps
• Prepare and analyse monthly targets and results
• Develop high-quality credit management techniques
• Support senior management with financial operations
• Assess credit risk of new customers and provide monthly risk reports
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers through regular contact
• Model assertive,



clear communication with clients in written and verbal form
• Manage team performance, workload, procedures and documentation
• Ensure adherence to service standards and best practice
• Promote cross-functional relationships and ensure effective credit control across Europe
• Support continuous improvement in co-insurance processes and systems
Responsabilidades
• 5+ years in a similar role within the Insurance/reinsurance market in Continental Europe
• Experience in credit control within the Insurance sector, especially co-insurance
• Solid knowledge of technical and accounting procedures and credit control
• Understanding of service standards, terms of trade and audit guidelines
• Experience with xqbhyrx Aged Debt Reporting and analysis
• Strong Excel skills at Proficient Level (macros)
• Strong grasp of co-insurance processes and systems
• Ability to work on own initiative and challenge procedures
• Strong technical skills in credit control
• Knowledge of Insurance and Reinsurance products in Continental Europe (advantage)
• English essential; Italian or French an advantage
• Sox controls awareness desirable
• Associate or member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management desirable
