As Engineering Manager for Softonic’s Native team, you guide the people and technical direction behind our mobile apps and their backend services. You’ll lead up to two engineering teams, stay hands-on with architecture reviews, and tackle React Native or Kotlin issues when needed. You’ll collaborate with the Director of Engineering to balance delivery, growth, and technical excellence while shaping the Native roadmap to align with company goals. This role offers impact across product, platform, and user experience at scale.

• Manage up to two engineering teams with native and cross-functional profiles
• Guide development of the React Native app and Kotlin native modules (Swift/Obj-C planned)
• Stay hands-on with codebase: review architecture decisions and assist engineers
• Drive backend API gateway exposure decisions
• Own infrastructure choices for Native (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Crossplane, GCP)
• Remove roadblocks to ensure delivery aligned with Product Owners
• Align Tech Owner OKRs with Product needs
• Facilitate decisions within teams and with stakeholders; provide diagnoses and recommendations




• Build mid- to long-term Native team strategy with the Director of Engineering
• Support team growth and engagement: performance, career development, time off, people practices with HR/Agile Coaches
Responsabilidades
• 5+ years of engineering team management, including native mobile leadership
• Hands-on engineering manager who codes and reviews architecture
• Background building native apps before moving to management
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing two teams simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of React Native and Kotlin
• Experience with monorepo setups across multiple native apps
• Experience packaging and distributing native apps outside official stores; App Store/Play Store xqbhyrx releases
• Comfort exposing/consuming backend services via API gateway
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Crossplane, and GCP
• Solid understanding of NodeJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, and PHP
• Experience running Scrum, Kanban, or Lean
• Coaching and mentoring for direct reports and stakeholders
• Familiarity with Jira or Trello for lifecycle management
