As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of data centre facilities across Europe, Middle East u0026amp; Africa to support AWS’s global operations. You will work with cross-functional teams to tackle civil engineering challenges, drive innovative facility design, and influence security, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. This role sits within AWS Infrastructure Services, focused on building world-class uptime and scalable infrastructure. You will shape prototypical DC facilities and oversee external consultants, balancing performance with cost. You will join a diverse team and own the delivery of multiple site designs.

• Collaborate with design and engineering professionals on concepts and build projects
• Create, review and release data centre Civil Engineering designs
• Manage the portfolio of data centre designs and features
• Develop and maintain Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for civil engineering systems
• Act as technical advisor for AWS DC design projects (roads,



drainage, site works, earthworks, retaining walls), evaluate options and validate calculations
• Manage external civil design consultants
• Coordinate with internal and external MEP design engineers
• Lead initiatives to improve cost, quality, schedule, and consistency
• Work on multiple data centre build and capital improvement projects simultaneously
• Travel for site assessments, consultant selection, meetings, construction review, and interface with AHJs, consultants, quantity surveyors, and xqbhyrx building owners
• Anticipate travel not to exceed 25%
• Use civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite proficiently
Responsabilidades
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil and gas)
