As Lead Data Architect, you will shape the enterprise imaging and multi-modal data ecosystem to enable scalable analytics and AI workflows. You will bridge scientific, business, and technology teams to translate priorities into interoperable, compliant data architectures. You’ll guide modernization of imaging platforms and ensure alignment with GxP, FAIR, and data governance standards. This role offers the opportunity to influence how data supports research, product development, and clinical initiatives at Roche.

• Define and execute the enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap for multi-modal imaging and research data within the Global Imaging Platform (GIP)
• Design scalable, interoperable data architectures for Radiology, Digital Pathology, AI/ML, clinical, and translational research workflows
• Establish standards for data modeling, metadata management, lineage, interoperability, cataloging, and governance across data types
• Lead design and implementation of cloud-native data platforms, data lakes/lakehouses, and distributed analytics ecosystems
• Translate business and research requirements into scalable, compliant data solutions with stakeholders across functions
• Act as architecture lead for imaging and multi-modal data across gRED, pRED, PD, RDT, RIS, and enterprise IT
• Ensure alignment with GxP, FAIR, HIPAA/GDPR, security, privacy, and governance standards
• Drive adoption of common data models, interoperability standards, APIs, and semantic frameworks
• Collaborate with engineering to design data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access patterns optimized for AI/ML and analytics
• Define architecture patterns for high-volume imaging and pathology data, including metadata indexing, streaming, archival, and federated access
• Lead modernization efforts for legacy data environments toward scalable, hybrid architectures
• Drive automation and standardization across data lifecycle management, quality, observability, and governance workflows
• Oversee architecture reviews, governance, and cross-functional design decisions for scalability and excellence
• Identify opportunities to improve scalability, cost, performance, and efficiency across platforms
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to inform future-state architecture
• Evolve AI-ready, semantically enriched data architectures for advanced analytics and generative AI use cases
• Promote AI-enabled automation and metadata-driven architectures to accelerate analytics and compliance
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing in Roche’s data and imaging community
• Contribute to enterprise architecture review boards and governance councils to align with long-term strategy
Responsabilidades
• 8 - 10 years of industry experience in relevant fields with education in Technology (preferred)
• Proven track record defining technical direction and driving large-scale data initiatives in regulated environments
• Experience shaping enterprise data architecture strategy for major platforms or services
• Deep expertise in distributed data systems, cloud-native platforms, and scalable analytics
• Strong experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Datastores, Azure, GCP or xqbhyrx equivalent
• Expertise in data modeling, metadata management, master data, lineage, and governance
• Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (DICOM, HL7/FHIR, OMOP, CDISC, SDTM)
• Experience architecting AI/ML-ready data environments for analytics and deployment
• Proficiency in scalable ingestion/processing architectures for large structured and unstructured datasets (imaging, digital pathology)
• Experience implementing IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment for cloud platforms
• Ability to design observability, data quality, and resilience across enterprise systems
• Strong security, privacy, access management, and regulatory compliance experience in health/life sciences
• Coaching/mentorship of engineers and architects, promoting architectural consistency
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, translating technical concepts to business value
• Experience aligning data practices with Roche QMS and governance requirements
• Experience supporting globally distributed teams and cross-organization alignment
