Read this part first
We're not looking for someone who has already done this job. We're looking for someone who could be exceptional at it in two years, and who wants to be trained by the person who has been doing it himself until now.
If you're technical, obsessive about numbers, and you already use AI daily because waiting for someone to teach you felt slow — keep reading. If you need a playbook handed to you, this isn't it.
About us
Airnest is a founder-led hospitality operator in the Canary Islands: 4 boutique hotels and 6 short-term-rental buildings in Gran Canaria. 160 units, a 9.1 average Booking score, 38 people, zero outside funding. Our target is a 300-unit operating core in Las Palmas within 18 months.
We're making a bet: that a hospitality company's backbone should be one intelligent system, not a stack of twelve disconnected tools. That's being built right now — you'd be joining while it happens, not after.
The role
This is a new position, reporting directly to the CEO. It has two halves.
One: the machine behind direct bookings.
The majority of bookings we take arrive through a channel, and every channel charges us for it. Growing our direct share is the single most valuable thing we can do to our P&L; — no capex, no extra units, no extra shifts. That mission is mine. Your job is to build and run the machine underneath it.
Day to day, that means:
-
- Owning our RMS and channel manager: rates, minimum stays, restrictions, availability across every property and every channel.
- Watching demand and competitors daily, and flagging what we should be doing differently before it costs us.
- Running the reporting that tells us where every euro came from and what it cost us to get it — and automating it so nobody rebuilds it by hand.
- Auditing parity, promotions and channel content across all OTAs and our own site.
- Using AI to do all of the above at a scale a person alone couldn't. This is not a bonus point. It's the job.
Two: local B2B, which is direct business nobody bills us for.
Not all direct demand comes through a website. Las Palmas generates business that never touches an OTA: film and TV productions housing crews for months at a time, shipping agents placing marine crews between port calls, companies with recurring project stays, sports and events groups.
These accounts book long, book repeatedly, and cost us nothing in commission. Until now we've served that business when it came to us. Nobody has gone out to build it.
Part of this role is to change that — map who's out there, get in front of them, and turn one-off bookings into standing accounts. You won't do it alone: Our Head of Ops and I will open doors and sit in the conversations with you. But the research, the outreach, the follow-up and the pipeline are yours.
I'll teach you revenue management, hospitality economics,
Claude Code, and how channel negotiation actually works. You bring the raw ability and the hunger.
Who we're looking for
-
- 1-2 years of professional experience in something analytical. Hospitality is welcome but not required.
- Genuinely comfortable with numbers. You can take a messy export and turn it into an answer without being walked through it.
- Fluent with AI tools, and ideally a bit further than that: prompting well, automating your own work, scripting when it's faster. If you've built something for yourself that saved you an hour a day, tell us about it.
- Willing to write to a stranger and follow up. Part of this job is outbound, and outbound only works if being told no doesn't slow you down.
- Fast, very curious and self-directed. You'll be given problems, not instructions.
- Spanish C1+ and solid English (B2+).
- Excel or Sheets at a level you're not embarrassed by.
What we don't require
Revenue management experience. A hospitality degree. Knowledge of Mews, Atomize, Guesty, Wheelhouse or SiteMinder. All of that is teachable.
The details
-
- Full-time, on-site at our Las Palmas office, Monday to Friday.
- €22-27k depending on experience, with a formal review at 12 months tied to what you've taken ownership of.
- Commissions based on the % increase of direct bookings.
- Direct line to the CEO. You'll be in the room where the decisions get made, from week one.
- This role is deliberately bigger than the salary. xhfqzwm We're paying for potential and betting we're right about you — the band is a starting point, not a ceiling.
