Position: QA Mechanical and Piping Engineer

Location: Huelva, Spain.

Project: Circular E-scrap Recycling Plant

Company Overview:

The client is an international, independent, employee-owned engineering and consulting company with over 60 years of experience delivering large-scale industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects. Acting as a technical partner from engineering through construction and commissioning, the client emphasizes safety, quality, and sustainability. On this project, the client leads a large on-site technical team coordinating multiple contractors and is seeking QA professionals with strong technical expertise, autonomy, and the ability to operate in demanding industrial environments.

Project Overview:

The circular project is a strategic industrial and circular-economy initiative focused on recycling electronic waste (e-scrap) to produce copper. This new-build plant in southern Spain is considered a "green project" with an investment exceeding €300 million. The project is technically and operationally complex, emphasizing safety, environmental responsibility, quality, sustainability, and compliance with European regulations.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a QA Mechanical and Piping Engineer to strengthen the project’s quality assurance processes during a critical execution phase. This is a new role designed to ensure the highest quality standards in a large-scale, technically complex industrial project. The QA Mechanical and Piping Engineer will operate under the Project QA Manager, working closely with site engineers, contractors, and HSE teams to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, codes, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement,



and monitor QA plans for mechanical and piping systems in compliance with project specifications and international standards.
- Review engineering documentation, drawings, and procedures to ensure conformance with quality requirements.
- Conduct inspections and audits of mechanical and piping installations, identifying non-conformances and following up on corrective actions.
- Collaborate with contractors and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Verify that materials, fabrication, and installation meet project codes, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Support commissioning activities to ensure mechanical and piping systems function as designed and meet performance standards.
- Maintain accurate QA documentation and reports for project records and compliance purposes.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a QA Engineer in mechanical and piping systems for industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping codes, mechanical systems, welding standards, and inspection techniques.
- Ability to operate autonomously and exercise sound technical judgment in complex, high-risk projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to relocate to southern Spain; accommodation and vehicle may be provided depending on contracting model.
