Senior Data Engineer (Python / Data Applications)

Salary: Up to $110,000

They're building intelligent platforms that enable insurance organisations to make better decisions through advanced data capabilities, automation and real-time insights. This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative engineering team working at the intersection of data engineering, software development and AI.

What You'll Be Doing

- Designing and building data-driven applications to support a live frontend
- Working as part of full-stack teams alongside backend and frontend engineers
- Applying software development best practices to the data world, including test coverage, design patterns and CI/CD
- Using AI tooling effectively while maintaining ownership of correctness and technical design
- Implementing effective metrics, monitoring and observability processes
- Building reliable and scalable data solutions that support business-critical applications
- Contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the engineering team

What They're Looking For

- 3+ years of commercial experience writing production code as a Data Engineer or Backend Engineer using Python
- Experience shipping tested,



reviewed code and taking ownership of technical quality
- Strong debugging skills with the ability to reason about edge cases and complex problems
- Moderate to proficient experience with data processing libraries and concepts
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of database concepts
- Understanding of database administration principles
- Experience with DataOps methodologies, tools and processes
- Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional engineering teams
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience with DBT
- Experience working with AI technologies including LLMs, skills and agents
- Experience building RESTful APIs or event-driven applications
- Experience in data warehouse development or database administration
- General knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C;) insurance
