Hosting Research Group
Our research group, ALLERGY , focuses on the study of immune mechanisms underlying allergic and inflammatory diseases, with particular emphasis on severe phenotypes and translational research. Based at Universidad CEU San Pablo, ALLERGY integrates basic, clinical, and computational approaches to better understand disease pathogenesis and improve patient management.
Our team has strong expertise in biomarker discovery and immune profiling, applying multi-omics technologies and high‑dimensional data analysis to advance precision medicine and patient stratification. Their research also explores novel therapeutic strategies, including biologics and immunomodulatory approaches.
The ALLERGY group operates within a highly collaborative framework,
maintaining active partnerships with more than 20 hospitals across Spain and international networks such as EAACI. Its multidisciplinary environment combines immunology, bioinformatics, and functional studies, providing an excellent setting for cutting‑edge translational research and advanced training.

Research Project Description
Chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer represent opposite extremes of immune regulation.
While inflammatory disorders are characterized by immune hyperactivation, cancer exhibits excessive immune suppression. Understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying these complementary immune responses could open new avenues for therapeutic interventions and personalized treatments.
Our group proposes an innovative comparative approach between cancer and allergy using existing multi-omics datasets, including transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and high‑dimensional cytometry. Integrative analyses will identify key regulatory pathways, cellular nodes, and potential biomarkers that differentiate hyperactivation from suppression in human immunity. Findings will be validated in vitro and ex vivo using models of T cells, macrophages, and tumor cells to assess plasticity and functional repolarization.
Candidate experience and profile:
P ostdoctoral candidates of any nationality (max. 8 years after defense) with with a strong bioinformatics, computational biology, or multidisciplinary biomedical background who can bring new expertise to our group.
Candidates will benefit from collaboration and networking opportunities with over 20 Spanish hospitals and international partners, including the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
For MSCA-PF 26 call, at the deadline for the submission of proposals (09/09/2026) candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activities in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the above mentioned deadline.
Those files received before 15th of June will be considered for MSCA-PF 2026 call. Applications received after this date , will be considered for other calls after discussion with the candidate.
