Role highlights:

- Configuration Manager
- Location: Valencia, Spain
- Department: Manufacturing Assurance; Global Manufacturing Organisation
- Reports to: Configuration and Change Team Lead
- Employment type: Permanent
- Workplace model: Hybrid
- Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)

Why this role matters:

We are looking for a highly skilled Configuration Manager to join our Configuration Management and Change Control team within the Global Manufacturing Organization (GMO). In this role, you will play a crucial part in executing our CM functions across multi-domain environments and ensuring flawless product data integrity for multi-site manufacturing.

As a Configuration Manager, your mission is to actively bridge engineering and manufacturing by capturing product information, structuring it effectively, and managing changes throughout the product lifecycle for the local production site. Reporting to the integral CM Team, you will act as a subject matter expert, driving configuration consistency and ensuring changes are rigorously controlled and documented within the local site.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:

- Execute and support the continuous improvement of the Configuration Management Standard Operating Procedures (CM SOPs).
- Establish and manage product baselines for assigned segments, ensuring absolute data consistency across PLM, ERP and MES systems.
- Independently manage the day-to-day change management process for assigned projects; process ECRs, ECOs, RFDs, and RFWs, and actively participate in or facilitate Change Control Boards (CCB).
- Structure and maintain EBOM/MBOM as well as CIDL/ABCL configurations, ensuring seamless transitions and accurate product breakdowns.
- Apply and enforce item classification schemes, part numbering conventions, and product breakdown structures across hardware and software.

- Ensure that all relevant personnel at the site are trained on CM processes, workflows, and system usage, and maintain awareness of updates or changes to established procedures.
- Act as an ambassador for the PLM and MES platforms, proactively guiding cross-functional teams on CM best practices and effective system utilization to drive adoption, streamline workflows, and protect data integrity.
- Collaborate closely with program managers, engineers, supply chain, and quality assurance to resolve configuration issues and maintain integrity.
- Track and compile CM metrics, KPIs, and configuration status reports for your assigned projects, identifying risks and proposing solutions.
- Adapt CM practices to suit a rapid-paced environment, balancing prototype cycles, design iterations, and multi-program concurrency.

Must haves:

- Engineering background (Bachelor’s in electrical, electronics, mechanical, aerospace, or a relevant engineering discipline).
- 4 to 6 years of experience in configuration management or a closely related engineering discipline within the aerospace, defense, or automotive industry.
- Working knowledge of configuration management standards (e.g., ECSS-M-ST-40, EIA-649, or MIL-STD-973).
- Experience with hardware and/or software configuration management within a multi-domain product environment.
- Demonstrated experience processing change documentation and actively contributing to a CCB.
- Strong understanding of the distinction between EBOM and MBOM, product breakdown structures,

and item classification methodologies.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one PLM system (e.g., Arena, Windchill, Teamcenter, Enovia, Aras) and familiarity with an MES or ERP system.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment where processes are still maturing.
- Fluent in English. Spanish is a plus.

Nice to haves:

- Familiarity with ground segment or mission operations system architectures.
- Exposure to software CM concepts (version control, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines).
- Demonstrated experience in programming and AI tools for creating automations, tools and for day‑to‑day use
- Experience assisting in the implementation or testing of PLM/MES system updates.
- Certification or coursework in CM (e.g., CM2, CMIPC, NDIA CM training).
- Experience in a manufacturing scale‑up or transition environment.
