Experteer Overview In this role you will drive manufacturability and industrialization for steel components across a global supplier base, partnering with Ru0026amp; D, Quality, and Procurement to ensure designs are manufacturable, scalable, and cost-effective. You’ll lead DFMA, supplier readiness, and engineering change activity while applying lean practices and advancing new manufacturing technologies. This position offers hands-on impact in accelerating Nextpower’s renewable energy mission and shaping production readiness for steel products.Compensaciones / Beneficios
- Provide manufacturing feasibility input during product development and advise on DFMA with external supplier feedback
- Review drawings/revisions to identify manufacturability risks and propose solutions
- Lead manufacturing technology initiatives and readiness activities for steel/industrial processes (forming, stamping, welding, laser, coating, assembly, automation)
- Plan and execute prototype builds, supplier trials, and on-site validations to verify dimensions and functionality
- Drive value engineering and cost-reduction across steel products while ensuring performance and reliability
- Define and validate manufacturing readiness deliverables (process flows, risk assessments, inspections, instructions, packaging, ramp-readiness)
- Perform supplier factory readiness audits and support ramp execution; address constraints anddrive corrective actions
- Deploy manufacturing technologies and best practices across supplier footprint including automation/inspection
- Manage engineering changes (ECR/DCO/ECO)
in PLM with controlled supplier implementation
- Provide rapid technical escalation support and lead root-cause actions (8D, 5-Why, Pareto) with measurable effectiveness
- Document and share best practices across the group and support NPI readiness reviewsResponsabilidades
- English and Spanish fluent (written and spoken)
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline; 10+ years in manufacturing engineering/industrialization for steel components in OEM/CM environments
- 5+ years leading DFMA in design for manufacturing and steel manufacturing processes
- 5+ years serving large OEM customers in renewable energy, automotive, or industrial manufacturing (solar tracker experience a plus)
- Experience with steel fabrication processes (roll forming, stamping, welding, casting, laser cutting, machining, coating/finishing, assembly, automation)
- Experience leading supplier-facing engineering activities (process readiness, tooling readiness, validation builds, on-site troubleshooting)
- Experience with engineering change management in a PLM system and controlled implementation
- CAD collaboration for manufacturability reviews (SolidWorks or equivalent) and interpreting drawings
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge and structured problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Pareto)
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate with integral cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel up to 50% (international and domestic)
- Preferred: SSGB, PMP, Lean certifications; direct Tier1/Tier2 supplier experienceRequisitos principales
