Experteer Overview

In this role you will lead the architecture of a digital substation monitoring platform, shaping system-level design across hardware, software and data layers. You will translate customer needs into scalable, technically feasible solutions and guide cross-functional teams, suppliers, and partners.

You’ll drive forward a forward-looking platform strategy that enables AI/analytics, edge-to-cloud integration, and secure data pipelines. This is a mission‑critical role at Grid Beats, connecting innovation with real-world grid reliability and sustainability.

Compensaciones / Incentivos

- Define and own the overall architecture of the substation monitoring platform across hardware, firmware, software and data layers
- Translate customer and product needs into system capabilities, requirements, interfaces and acceptance criteria
- Serve as technical bridge between product management, domain SMEs, engineering teams, suppliers and customers
- Create and maintain architecture and interface documentation to guide engineering
- Lead technical product discovery, feasibility assessments, prototypes and trade-offs on performance, cost, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Develop a platform strategy to support AI/analytics, expandability and evolving grid needs
- Design edge-to-cloud software architecture with secure communication,



scalable data pipelines and deployment flexibility
- Align system design with IEC 61850, IEEE C37, DNP3 and MODBUS for secure grid operation
- Establish modular deployment patterns, secure access control, update mechanisms, and multi-tenant cloud operations
- Manage decisions around containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes) and cloud services (AWS, Azure)
- Support field trials, pilots and lessons learned into the product architecture
- Support make-buy-partner decisions and lead integration of suppliers, sensors, analytics providers and third-party technologies

Responsabilidades

- Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or related field; master’s preferred
- Strong experience in system architecture or complex product development in industrial or energy applications
- Experience defining systems combining hardware, software, communications and data processing
- Understanding of systems decomposition, requirements flow-down and cross-domain interfaces
- Demonstrated leadership coordinating cross-functional teams
- Experience with digital, software-enabled or analytics-driven solutions
- Ability to communicate architecture and trade-offs clearly to technical and executive audiences
- Fluent in spoken and written English
