Please note that applicants must comply with the Mobility Rule (for more information about the 2026 call, please consult this link ) . /ph3Brief description of the institution: /h3pThe UGR has been awarded with the "Human Resources Excellence in Research (HRS4R)", which reflectsthe institution’s commitment to continuously improve its human resource policies in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The UGR is also internationally renowned for its excellence in diverse research fields and ranked among the top Spanish universities in a variety of ranking criteria, such as national RD projects, fellowships awarded, publications, and international funding. The UGR is one of the few Spanish Universities listed in the bShanghai Top 500 ranking - Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) /b. The 2025 edition of the ARWU places the UGR in 301-400th position in the world and as the 3-8 highest ranked University in Spain, reaffirming its position as an institution at the forefront of national and international research. For the current Framework Programme, bHorizon Europe /b, the UGR has obtainedb136 projects /b, so far, with a total funding of more thanb€38 million /b. /ph3Brief description of the Centre/Research Group: /h3pThe bIntelligent Databases and Information Systems (IdBIS) /b research group at the University of Granada, established in 1995, is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to integrating Artificial Intelligence within Information Systems. The group specializes in developing advanced systems for intelligent data management and effective human-machine communication. IdBIS possesses extensive expertise in bSoft Computing /b techniques, particularly Fuzzy Sets Theory and Level-based Representation Theory, to address uncertainty and Natural Language Processing (NLP). /ppTheir research excellence encompasses advanced database modeling—handling vagueness in relational, deductive, and multidimensional systems—and sophisticated data analysis, including Data Mining, Big Data, and Text Mining. Key research lines involve sentiment analysis, clustering, and linguistic data description (data2text). The group’s theoretical advancements have led to high-impact practical applications in critical sectors such as bmedical and health databases /b, building engineering, energy efficiency management, and security. /ppAs a host for MSCA fellows, IdBIS offers a robust research environment with a strong track record of international collaboration and technology transfer.



The group provides access to specialized infrastructure and a collaborative network of senior researchers, making it an idóneo setting for postdoctoral training at the intersection of trustworthy AI and practical information systems. /ph3Title: /h3pDeveloping Reliable LLM-based AI Interfaces via Uncertainty Logic for Clinical Decision Support (bR-LLM4HEALTH /b) /ph3Description: /h3pThis research project addresses the critical challenge of ensuring reliability, safety, and transparency in Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces for Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS). While generative AI offers transformative potential for reasoning over complex clinical datasets, its deployment in safety-critical medical environments is currently hindered by "hallucinations," inherent cognitive biases, and lack of expert-level validation. The primary objective of R-LLM4HEALTH is to bridge the gap between raw AI capabilities and the rigorous safety requirements of the healthcare sector. The research line focuses on engineering a robust Uncertainty Logic solution to quantify model confidence and mitigate erroneous outputs in real-time. The postdoctoral fellow will work on: /pullibDeveloping privacy-preserving LLM architectures /b tailored for clinical data mining. /lilibDesigning Uncertainty Logic frameworks /b to detect, flag, and mitigate hallucinations during the interpretation of Electronic Health Records (EHR). /lilibValidating technical guardrails /b through expert-led benchmarks to ensure alignment with clinical safety protocols. /li /ulpBy integrating advanced reasoning mechanisms and rigorous software engineering principles, the project seeks to transform LLMs into trustworthy assistants for healthcare professionals.
