No /p h3Offer Description /h3 pThe successful candidate will provide research support activities in the Institute’s Electron Microscopy Laboratory under the supervision of the Lab Manager and other laboratory technicians: /p ul liSupport for researchers using the Electron Microscopy and Optical Microscopy laboratory facilities. /li liPerformance of characterization analyses using Electron Microscopy (SEM, FIB) and Optical Microscopy (LM) on samples from the institute, collaborators, or external service projects. /li liSample preparation for SEM, TEM, and LM, including cutting, mechanical polishing, electropolishing, sputter metal coating, and preparation of lamellae or cross-sections using FIB. /li liSupport for in-situ and ex-situ mechanical testing. /li liTraining and instruction of new users in the different techniques. /li /ul pHigher Vocational Training qualification in Chemical Laboratory Technology. /p pThe following will be considered an advantage, although they are not mandatory requirements: /p ul liPrevious experience in a laboratory at a research center or university. /li liSimilar laboratory experience in a multinational and multicultural environment. /li liPrevious experience with microscopy techniques (electron and/or optical microscopy). /li /ul pThe following will also be taken into consideration: /p ul liCandidates with an interest in scientific instrumentation and materials characterization.



/li /ul pbLANGUAGES /b /p ul liEnglish level B2 according to the CEFR. /li liAdvanced user of Microsoft Office, preferably Office 365, especially Excel and Word. /li liKnowledge of Matlab and/or Python. /li /ul pbMandatory requirements: /b /p pIt is important that the candidate meets the requirements indicated in the call: /p ul liAge (16–29 years old), be under 30 years of age at the date of hiring /li liDegree/qualification (according to the requested profile) /li liNo employment relationship with IMDEA (during the 6 months prior to hiring). /li /ul pThe position is supported by Young Researchers Programme of the Community of Madrid within the framework of the ESF+ Programme: Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP) / Programa de Jóvenes Investigadores de la Comunidad de Madrid en el marco del Programa FSE+: Plataforma de Tecnologías Estratégicas para Europa (STEP) /p pLanguages ENGLISH Level Excellent /p pResearch Field Engineering Years of Research Experience None /p h3Additional Information /h3 pThe working language of the Institute is English.
