We are looking for an experienced and highly knowledgeable ESAT and TARA Tutor to join our university counselling team. The tutor will provide personalised one-to-one online preparation and work closely with the wider team to coordinate each student’s preparation and progress.

What would you do?

- Plan and deliver personalised one-to-one lessons tailored to each student’s level, target universities and specific preparation needs.
- Prepare students for all relevant areas, sections and modules of the ESAT and TARA examinations.
- Provide comprehensive support across the different subject areas assessed, including Mathematics and the relevant scientific disciplines, such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- Identify students’ strengths and areas for improvement through diagnostic assessments, practice exercises and analysis of past performance.
- Design and use educational materials, mock examinations and exam-specific strategies to improve students’ understanding, accuracy, time management and overall performance.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson content and student progress.
- Provide regular and clear feedback to students,



families and the university counselling team.
- Share relevant resources and recommendations for independent study between sessions.
- Coordinate with the university counselling team and participate in meetings when required to ensure a consistent and effective preparation strategy.

What are we looking for?

Essential requirements

- Strong academic knowledge and the ability to teach all areas and modules covered by the relevant examination .
- Ability to provide high-quality instruction across the mathematical, scientific and reasoning components required for ESAT and TARA preparation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- A personalised and student-centred approach to teaching.
- Confidence working independently while maintaining regular communication with the wider university counselling team.
- Availability to deliver an average of at least four hours of tutoring per week during periods of active demand.
- Commitment to becoming fully familiar with the structure, content, assessment criteria and strategies associated with both examinations.

Desirable requirements
- Previous personal experience taking the ESAT, TARA or comparable university admissions examinations.




- Previous experience preparing students for ESAT, TARA or similar admissions tests.
- A demonstrable record of helping students achieve strong examination results or secure admission to competitive universities.
- Experience working with international students and adapting teaching to different educational backgrounds.
- Strong personal results in relevant admissions tests or academic subjects.

Candidates without previous direct experience of these examinations may also be considered, provided they have the required subject knowledge and are willing to undertake the necessary training and familiarisation before teaching students. What do we offer?
- Fee: €50 gross per one-hour lesson.
- Teaching format: Online, one-to-one tutoring.

- Estimated commitment: Approximately 40 teaching hours per academic year, depending on student demand and the tutor’s availability.
