In this role you will join the GENOME Doctoral Network to develop context-aware and evolutionary AI resilience mechanisms for operator-grade telecom environments. You will work within a multidisciplinary team at Telefónica Research, shaping resilient AI pipelines for 6G and O-RAN systems. The position emphasizes scientific publications and collaboration with industry and academia, including a secondment at NEC Laboratories Europe.
You will balance rigorous theory with practical validation on realistic telecom platforms, contributing to open research and technology transfer.
Compensaciones / Incentivos
- Explore Human-in-the-Loop approaches translating operator intent into adaptive, security-aware system requirements and policies
- Design evolutionary and genetic optimisation methods for context embeddings and prompt adaptation in LLM-based resilience pipelines
- Investigate large-context processing strategies to handle complex security and network-management data
- Develop explainable AI mechanisms integrating with transformer-based models to address performance/explainability trade-offs
- Design and validate multi-objective deep reinforcement learning architectures for risk identification and mitigation in network contexts
- Evaluate the framework in operator-oriented and O-RAN/vRAN environments focusing on securing AI-based network functions
- Produce high-quality scientific publications and contribute to project deliverables with GENOME partners
- Attend meetings related to the GENOME project and related opportunities
Responsabilidades
- Master's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science/Engineering, AI, Cybersecurity, or closely related field
- Eligibility xugodme to enrol in UPC doctoral programme
- Fluency in English (C1 level or higher)
- Hands-on experience with Python and modern AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Hugging Face, TensorFlow)
- Solid foundation in ML, DL, transformers and neural networks
- MSCA Mobility Rule: no more than 12 months in Spain in last 3 years prior to start date
