Ophthalmology Technicians assist the Optometrist in performing routine examinations and minor surgical procedures. Applicants are expected to demonstrate problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize issues in a timely matter. They must be able to follow instructions/standardized work practices and communicate clearly, as well as establishing effective relationships with staff, patients, and their families.

Viable candidates must have a strong understanding of equipment safety and maintenance, and be able to illustrate professional judgment at all times.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Answering phones, checking messages, xugodme making appointments, and taking payments
- Preparing examination and treatment rooms
- Cleaning and maintaining ophthalmic instruments
- Assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures
