As a Senior Statistician at AstraZeneca in Barcelona, you will shape study designs and evidence packages within our global portfolio, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions. You will influence design, analysis, and interpretation of preclinical and clinical studies and contribute to regulatory submissions and best-practice development. This role offers high-impact work at the intersection of statistics and medicine, with opportunities to coach peers and push methodological excellence.

You will work on-site three days per week, embracing a fast-paced environment that values collaboration and curiosity.

Compensaciones / Ventajas

- Provide statistical expertise for complex design and interpretation of preclinical or clinical programmes, governance, and regulatory submissions
- Analyse information, perform modelling and simulation to inform design decisions and decision criteria
- Develop Statistical Analysis Plans for complex studies or projects
- Coach less experienced statisticians in analysis production, graphics, and study reports
- Analyse, interpret, summarise and communicate results of complex studies
- Contribute to regulatory submissions including overview documents and responses to questions
- Identify opportunities for modelling/simulation to improve study design




- Suggest practical solutions to improve methodology and delivery activities
- Develop best practices to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure high quality statistical work and identify development needs and training opportunities
- Draft Statistical Analysis Plans for complex studies under guidance
- Provide consultancy to statisticians and medical/science staff across the business
- Investigate and apply novel statistical approaches and regulatory guidance
- Develop standards and best practices, and collaborate with external scientists
- Build relationships with external scientific/academic communities and maintain academic links
- Contribute to or lead process improvement within xugodme the department
- Develop understanding of the pharma business and AstraZeneca ways of working
- Communicate research and results internally and externally via conferences and publications

Responsabilidades

- MSc/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics with substantial statistics component, or equivalent
- Competent statistical programmer (SAS and R)
- Knowledge of key technical and regulatory requirements
- Experience in design, analysis and reporting of preclinical or clinical studies in multiple settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with statistical methods in study design, analysis and interpretation
