Fabless semiconductor supplier KDPOF provides innovative high-speed optical networking for harsh environments. Making gigabit communications over fiber optics a reality, KD technology supplies 1 Gb/s POF links for automotive, industrial, and home networks. Founded in 2010 in Madrid, Spain, KD offer their cost-effective technology as either ASSP or IP (Intellectual Property) to be integrated in SoCs (System-on-Chips).

KD has about 50 employees, we are in full expansion due to the development of innovative products in the sector and the creation of a unique factory in Spain.

As a result, we are looking for R&D; Project Manager.

Please find below the responsibilities, profile, conditions and other details of the position:

Tasks & Responsibilities

As R&D; Project Manager you will support our R&D; team leaders on the accomplishment of the tasks intended to develop our family of advanced optical transceiver ICs on time & within budget, in accordance with the goals set up by the company and the commitments related with public grant programs.

- Develop full scale project plans & facilitate the documentation and follow-up of project scope, timelines, goals and deliverables.
- Elaborate the R&D; projects budget and track the real costs.
- Elaborate documentation for overall summarized yearly R&D; objectives and achievements.
- Co-operate closely with R&D; team leaders & project teams. All the activities will be supported by the R&D; teams for the technical topics.
- Suggest to team leaders any possible changes & interventions that might help to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Elaborate reports of the status, progress, problems found and solutions, for the different projects and for the overall activity of the R&D; Department.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Coordinate documentation required, timelines, etc.



with KD’s assembly and test fab team, in the activities where collaboration is required: prototyping, qualification and production phases.
- Be the technical responsible for different grant projects, preparing documentation, monitoring the projects and leading from the technical side the audits carried out by external entities for validation of the project execution.
- Support the relationships with partner companies and possible customers, being involved in communications, revision of agreements related to technical collaboration, follow-up of Proof-of-Concept projects, etc.
- Lead the communication with different providers for the development projects, and search and track possible new providers.
- Support team leaders in the relationships with universities and research centers.
- Lead the communication with patent attorneys for all the administrative work related to patent granting generated along the projects.
- Manage the NDA signature processes with different partners and providers.

What You Bring

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Telecommunications, Electronics or any equivalent education.
- Proven working experience in R&D; and HW/SW development project management, +5 years.
- Physical presence in the headquarters of KD in Madrid (Tres Cantos) (10 hours of teleworking per week are acceptable).
- English: excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Spanish: excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills:

- Experience in Microelectronics is welcome.
- Ability to analyze requirements to ensure scope is being met on projects.
- Very good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.




- Knowledge of project management, version control and issue tracking software is welcome.
