We are looking for a Senior R&D; Software Engineer (Modern C++ / Instrument Infrastructure) to join a newly formed team in Barcelona, building reusable infrastructure technology used by product teams worldwide.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain high-performance Modern C++ software for hardware control, data acquisition and instrument platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with product architects on infrastructure requirements and system architecture for next-generation instrument platforms.
- Integrate hardware and software components, ensuring reliable, high-performance operation of complex instrument systems.
- Debug and troubleshoot across the full stack,



from register-level interfaces and drivers to application-level software.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams (including a US-based team) across the full development lifecycle.

What is offered

- Salary range: €65,000 – €90,000 gross/year.
- Stock options.
- Hybrid model (~2-3 days/week office), permanent contract.

Requisitos básicos

- Strong experience with Modern C++, object-oriented programming and modern software architecture.
- Several years developing hardware control or hardware-adjacent software.
- Experience with PCIe and high-speed Ethernet, and understanding of driver/real-time processing architectures.
- Development experience in Linux and/or Windows environments.
- Fluent English.
