Thai Sakon – Beuningen and Elst, the Netherlands | 38 hours per week

Thai Sakon has two openings for an Independent Chef, across our two locations: Thorbeckeplein 44 in Beuningen (Gelderland) and St. Werenfriedplein 5 in Elst (Gelderland). Both locations operate under the same company, Thai Sakon B.V.

About Thai Sakon

Thai Sakon is a Thai restaurant focused mainly on takeaway meals. In our area we are known for our authentic Thai dishes. Our kitchen centres on traditional recipes, fresh herbs and classic cooking techniques from Thailand. Honest, flavourful and true to the original.

What will you do?

As an Independent Chef you are responsible for day-to-day operations in the kitchen. You typically work on your own, supported by one or two (part-time) kitchen assistants. You oversee the quality and preparation of our dishes and make sure the kitchen runs smoothly.

In practice this means:

- Preparing and presenting dishes according to recipe.
- Assessing and prepping ingredients, and running quality checks during service (doneness, taste, colour).
- Managing stock, placing timely orders with suppliers and checking deliveries.
- Providing input on the menu, dish composition and cooking methods.
- Working in line with HACCP, occupational health and safety guidelines, and making sure they are followed.




- Giving technical guidance to kitchen assistant(s) and keeping the workspace clean and tidy.

What we are looking for

- secondary vocational (mbo) level 3 of working and thinking;
- knowledge of basic cooking techniques;
- an eye for quality, hygiene and efficiency;
- a team player with good communication skills;
- stress-resistant and adaptable.

What we offer

- a 38-hour per week contract;
- salary in line with the Dutch Horeca collective labour agreement (cao Horeca), between € 2,606.25 and € 3,032.78 gross per month (based on 38 hours), depending on knowledge and years of experience;
- travel allowance in line with the cao;
- staff meals during shifts;

Work locations

You may be deployed at our two locations: Thorbeckeplein 44 in Beuningen (Gelderland) and St. Werenfriedplein 5 in Elst (Gelderland) both in The Netherlands. We will of course take your travel time into account. Both locations operate under the same company.
