About the Company and Department
Philip Morris International is redefining its business model through innovation and sustainability, focusing on smoke-free alternatives and responsible global practices. This internship will take place in the Global Procurement Department, based in Madrid but operating worldwide. The team plays a key role in supplier strategy and integral category management, particularly in the development of the Trade Engagement category, a critical area of investment and strategic sourcing.
Learning Objectives
Throughout the internship, the participant will have the opportunity to:
- Learn how to support the development of global procurement strategies within the Trade Engagement category.
- Gain experience in market research and supplier scouting at both global and regional levels.
- Understand supplier negotiation processes and contract development alongside legal experts.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects and interact with international business stakeholders.
- Apply data analysis tools to support strategic decision-making.
- Create high-impact reports and presentations to communicate procurement strategy and insights.
Mentorship and Supervision
The intern will be guided by a qualified company supervisor who will:
- Define specific learning objectives at the start of the internship.
- Provide continuous mentoring and regular feedback.
- Monitor progress and ensure the intern is developing within an educational framework.
Required Skills:
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Team collaboration in multicultural settings
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn quickly
Languages and Tools:
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Adobe Suite (especially InDesign) is highly valued
- Familiarity with Salesforce or CRM tools is a plus
