With an industry-leading team of in-house energy experts, we are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. and function as Canadian Solar’s integral development and power services business. /ppbr/ppbAbout the Role /b /ppbr/ppThe Senior Electromechanical Engineer – PV is responsible for leading and governing the multidisciplinary design of utility‑scale photovoltaic plants, acting as technical authority and people leader within the Engineering organization. /ppThe role ensures technical coherence, constructability, cost efficiency and execution readiness across all PV subsystems, bridging engineering design, EPC execution and site realities, and supporting strategic decision‑making at project and portfolio level. /ppbr/ppbResponsibilities /b /ppbr/ppbEngineering Leadership Governance /b /pulliAct as Engineering Leader for Specialized PV engineering team. /liliProvide leadership and strategic support to Engineering Management. /liliLead and coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical engineering teams. /liliAct as technical evaluator and decision making support for the Engineering Department. /liliEnsure continuity, alignment and performance of engineering teams during transition or high load periods. /li /ulpbr/ppbMultidisciplinary PV Design (Full Scope Ownership) /b /pulliOversight and validation of DC system design, Inverters and power stations, LV / MV collection systems, Grounding, lightning protection and electrical interfaces. /liliCoordination with grid and HV engineering teams. /li /ulpbr/ppbMechanical Design /b /pulliOversight of Site grading and earthworks strategies, Cut fill optimization, Cable routes, foundations and drainage concepts.
/liliCoordination with civil teams to ensure constructability and cost control. /li /ulpbr/ppbCommunications Control Systems /b /pulliSupervision of SCADA architecture and layouts, Plant communications and monitoring systems, Interface with commissioning and grid compliance systems. /li /ulpbr/ppbDesign Execution EPC Interface /b /pulliDirect coordination between design office and site execution. /liliOversight of detailed engineering for international utility‑scale PV plants. /liliEngineering interface between design assumptions and on‑site constraints. /liliSupport to construction, commissioning and cold commissioning activities. /liliSupervision of technical documentation, inspections and official communications. /li /ulpbr/ppbProject Commercial Support /b /pulliExecution of comparative technical analyses. /liliPreparation of project estimations and support to management decision‑making. /liliContributor to contract negotiation and closing with global suppliers and subcontractors. /liliTechnical support to procurement and subcontractor selection. /liliTechnical support to business and MA departments. /li /ulpbr/ppbQualifications /b /pulliBachelor’s degree in Electrical Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Industrial Engineering, or similar. /liliMinimum of 6–7 years in technical offices within the renewable energy sector (mandatory experience in large-scale photovoltaic projects exceeding 50 MW with solar tracking systems). /liliSpanish and English. /li /ulpbr/ppbRequired Skills /b /pulliStrong technical leadership and authority /liliSystem‑level engineering vision /liliDeep understanding of all PV subsystems /liliEPC mindset: design for execution /liliDecision‑making under technical and commercial constraints /liliTeam leadership, mentoring and coordination /liliInterface management across disciplines and stakeholders /li /ulpbr/ppbWork location /b /pulliMadrid/Sevilla /li /ul
