- Act as the primary translator across all disciplines, explaining concepts to data team roles and executives.

- Develop product sense for data, anticipating quality issues, recognizing when simpler solutions suffice, and strategically saying “no” to requests that compromise vision.
- Publicise and amplify work to drive adoption and learning.

- Serve as the first line of response for data questions, determining effort and ownership.
- Perform initial ad‑hoc analysis (lightweight SQL, exploratory analysis, sanity checks) to answer simple, time‑sensitive questions.
- Triage and prioritise requests, escalating to specialized teams when necessary, providing clear context and success criteria.
- Identify recurring request patterns that indicate gaps in dashboards, data quality, documentation, or enablement.
- Provide data consulting: advise on availability, methodologies, and interpretation of insights.
- Drive data literacy and adoption, coaching teams on integrating data into daily decisions.
- Proactively surface observations, trends, or risks as actionable insights.
- Bridge the data‑to‑action gap: communicate insights and embed them into concrete actions and process changes.
- Ensure data quality pain points are identified and prioritised within the data team.
