What you do as a Lead Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will work with demanding customers and collaborate proactively with colleagues across the globe. Our MCF projects require specific and advanced knowledge and skills beyond standard building features. A proactive Lead Mechanical Engineer is what our clients need. You will support them with detailed 3D designs up to working documentation level. The Brown Field Services team works in live data centres, and your daily work will include risk management, executing assessments, and testing and commissioning protocols. Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Managing and delivering mechanical work packages in multiple projects
- Identifying scope, design and management objectives and delivering project documentation for contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities
- Writing technical specifications and reports
- Assisting the project manager in the preparation and review of project costs and risk assessments
- Developing and maintaining vendor relationships, reviewing contractor pre-qualifications, tender evaluation summaries, evaluating proposals, and advising the client on vendor selection; writing technical specifications for tenders; representing RHDHV on factory acceptance tests and site testing & commissioning activities; communicating project status to internal directors and external stakeholders

You will work within a multidisciplinary team with cross-border, native and home-based colleagues. In addition to project work,



you will contribute to the optimization of internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within your field. We continue to develop ourselves continuously.

Our general Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team provides a multidisciplinary package of consultancy services for datacenter clients, including strategic, tactical, and operational advice to clients such as colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. The team comprises electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, civil, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology professionals who collaborate to develop integrated designs for Data Centres.

What you bring

You are an entrepreneurial, result-oriented, proactive individual with a positive, flexible and problem-solving attitude. Besides that, you are:

- Having a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Having at least 5 years of relevant working experience in mechanical design and/or installation




- Possessing good knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry
- Demonstrating good understanding of the daily operational business of our clients
- An entrepreneurial, proactive, and flexible attitude
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills towards colleagues and clients, fluent in English; Spanish is preferable, Dutch and/or German a plus
