Experteer Overview
In this role you help reduce the environmental impact of chemicals by delivering monitoring projects and supporting regulatory decisions. You work with a cross-functional team to plan, coordinate and implement monitoring activities, ensuring data quality and relevance for policy development. You will contribute to evidence-building on emerging chemical risks and engage with regulators and external partners. This position offers meaningful impact in protecting water and environmental quality within a collaborative, flexible environment.

• Provide technical support to the Chemicals Investigation Programme and its collaboration with the water industry
• Support River Basin Planning and PEWS leads in monitoring and regulatory tasks
• Draft technical responses to government questions and information requests
• Assist with permitting activities across sectors to address chemical issues
• Oversee aspects of work with the Chief Scientists Group
• Collaborate with Defra, other regulators and the EA’s National Laboratory Service
• Plan,



coordinate and deliver monitoring activities ensuring robust, accessible data
• Operate within a dispersed, virtual team with some travel for meetings

Responsabilidades
• Awareness of environmental chemical concerns and ability to work with technical reports
• Regulatory or industrial experience in environmental regimes (air quality, contaminated land, water quality, etc.)
• Motivated, self-starter with good organization, attention to detail, and initiative
• Strong team player experience in virtual settings with ability to balance multiple tasks
• Flexible, adaptable to changing priorities and capable of adjusting communication styles
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel; familiar with MS Teams and SharePoint
• Desirable: Power BI, Python and/or R experience
