Job Highlight
The ICT Officer - Solutions Architect and Developer will supportand maintain existing IT products and contribute to the developmentand deployment of new tools as required by the client. The ICTOfficer - Solutions Architect and Developer will also beresponsible for developing documentation and ensuring overallapplication security.
The incumbent will be personnel of UNOPS under its fullresponsibility.

Job Specific Context
The ICT Officer - Solutions Architect and Developer supports thedevelopment of software solutions for our partner UNOG.
Role Purpose
Under the overall administrative supervision of UNOPS SeniorProgramme Manager or an assigned person, the main role of the ICTOfficer - Solutions Architect and Developer is to work under thedirect operational guidance of the partner in UNOG to deliver ITproducts to support UNOG operations.

The ICT Officer - Solutions Architect and Developer will beresponsible for the following duties:

- Contributes to reviewing clients' requirements and helpstranslate them into new or updated application features, asappropriate.
- Participates in assessing application system integrations andoffers input on practical and efficient ways to addressrequirements.
- Supports the design, development, and rollout of applicationsolutions in collaboration with the team.
- Engages with colleagues to explore and assess emergingtechnologies and related costs, and offers recommendations tostrengthen existing or planned solutions.

- Supports the preparation and periodic updating ofspecifications and user documentation, following establishedtemplates and formats.
- Contributes to the development of data models, databases, anddata warehouses, and helps integrate data from multiple sources;assists in the design and execution of ETL processes.
- Participates in maintaining, updating, and improving existinguser systems; helps troubleshoot issues and provides ongoing userand technical support, including performance monitoring and issueresolution.
- Collaborates in deploying workflows and online services (e.g.,Azure and Power Platform) to support applications deployment, whereapplicable.

integration, and regression testing byapplying defined business cases and testing scenarios; supportsusers during acceptance testing.

Education Requirements
Required
- An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent)preferably in information technology, computer science,engineering, statistics, or in a field related to the postdescription OR
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) withtwo (2) years of qualifying experience

- IT certification by a recognized organization isdesirable.
Experience Requirements
Required:
- Relevant experience is defined as experience in planning,design, development, implementation and maintenance of computerinformation systems or related areas.
- Experience in developing and supporting applications usingMicrosoft tools (e.g. SharePoint, SharePoint Online, PowerPlatform, Azure, etc.).
- Experience in high level programming languages (e.g. Java,Python, Javascript, etc.
- Experience in technical writing.
Desirable:
- Experience in Java, , Python and API / microservicesdevelopment.
- Experience in building, maintaining, and deploying complexapplications.
- Experience in leading teams comprised of direct orcross-functional reports.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices including continuous integrationand continuous delivery.
- Experience in using project management and issue trackingsoftware (e.g. Jira, etc.).
- Experience conducting code reviews and planning releases.
- Previous experience working for an intergovernmental orregional organization.
