Overview

For a major national railway infrastructure organization, we are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a strategic ICT team responsible for solutions supporting rail traffic operations and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

You will contribute to several high-impact digital transformation initiatives focused on improving rail freight operations within port environments, including a project dedicated to wagon localization and tracking. Acting as the bridge between business and IT, you will gather, analyze and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications while ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational needs.

This is a long-term assignment within a multidisciplinary Agile environment requiring strong stakeholder management, analytical expertise and experience working on complex ICT projects.

Mission

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for:

Business & Functional Analysis

- Gather, analyze and document business requirements using appropriate elicitation techniques.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements.
- Act as the primary interface between business users and development teams.

Process Optimization

- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.




- Recommend solutions to increase operational efficiency, data quality and process accuracy.
- Support business transformation initiatives through process modeling and optimization activities.

Functional Specifications

- Produce detailed functional analyses, user stories and specifications.
- Ensure requirements are complete, traceable and aligned with project objectives.
- Support development, testing and implementation activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaboration & Delivery

- Work closely with ICT teams, business departments and external partners.
- Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and project governance activities.
- Support solution validation, stakeholder alignment and change management initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements

Experience

- Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Analysis and Functional Analysis within ICT projects.
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Minimum 10 years' experience gathering and analysing business requirements through various elicitation techniques.
- Minimum 5 years' experience with modelling and design methodologies such as:
- BPMN
- UML / UPM




- Demonstrated experience drafting public procurement specifications / tender documentation (cahier des charges / lastenboek).

Technical Knowledge

- Experience in transport, logistics, rail, mobility or port-related environments.

Language Requirements

The consultant must possess:

- French or Dutch: C2 level (one of the two languages)
- The second national language: minimum B2 level
- English: minimum B2 level
