General Function:
The Bilingual Diagnostician administers and interprets psychoeducational and/or developmental tests for students with learning, developmental, and/or emotional disabilities. Provides information on child development issues to school personnel and parents. Provides recommendations for program development and student placement. Provides referral information to IEP teams. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and district policies. Provides recommendations for the intellectual, adaptive, academic,



social, and emotional development of children. Interprets results of psychological studies. Interprets and applies state and federal codes. Develops strategies and interventions to address the special education needs of eligible students.

Education/Training/Experience:
Minimum: Master's degree in the field, internship, and current New Mexico Diagnostician Certification.
Preferred: Bilingual: English-Spanish

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Flexibility, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
