The 2 PhD students will work on their research in the framework of the ERC Starting Grant project INTERMAPS “Mapping Intersectionality: A Conceptual and Methodological Model for the Study of Inequalities and Discriminations” under the supervision of Maria Rodó-Zárate. The PhD’s will work on the study of some of the axes of inequality covered by INTERMAPS (gender, sexual orientation, racialization, origin, religion, national identity, class, (dis)ability, age, physical appearance or urban/rural divide) in relation to diverse places of the everyday life (public space, shops and services, home, educational centres, workplace, leisure and sports, institutional offices, social networks, health centres, public transport) from an emotional perspective. The position will be based in the Political and Social Sciences Department at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona) and will be ideally starting January 1st 2023.

Tasks:
- Work on their own PhD project within the framework of INTERMAPS.
- Support data collection process.
- Work cooperatively with the PI and any other research team members.




- Engage in all of the research project activities.

Requirements

This call is subject to the official admission requirements in the doctoral programs according to RD 99/2011, and all the submission requirements of the PhD Programme in the Department of Social and Political Science (UPF).

The candidate can be already in the PhD program (first year preferably) or requesting its incorporation. In this last case, the selection will constitute a pre-selection, and will be subject to the final decision of the independent evaluative committee established by the PhD program of the Department.
