Experteer Overview
As a Data Engineer at Preply, you will strengthen the Data Ingestion and Enrichment foundation powering analytics, ML platforms, and product features. You’ll build and operate scalable data lake components and end-to-end ingestion pipelines for batch and streaming data, ensuring clear ownership, schemas, and quality. You’ll implement data contracts, governance by design, and observability, enabling trusted, self-serve data for cross-functional teams. This role offers meaningful impact on AI-driven learning products at general scale.

• Build and maintain components of Preply's data lake
• Define ownership, schemas, and quality for datasets across ingestion lifecycles
• Develop reliable batch and streaming ingestion pipelines for real-time and analytical use cases
• Implement data contracts and early validation with quality metrics
• Create enrichment logic and support dataset versioning and point-in-time correctness
• Instrument pipelines for observability and contribute to SLOs, alerting, and incident response
• Apply governance by design: access control, privacy, masking, and auditable flows
• Enable self-service templates, libraries,



and tooling for onboarding data sources
• Collaborate across Product, Backend, Analytics, and ML teams; mentor juniors
• Foster a culture of data quality, contracts, and cross-team ownership

Responsabilidades
• Hands-on experience building components of large-scale data applications (data pipelines, APIs, algorithms)
• Experience in platform or data engineering with multi-stakeholder delivery
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and modern DevOps practices
• Experience designing real-time and batch data pipelines using Spark, Flink, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Debezium
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, or similar
• Strong problem-solving and proactive improvement mindset
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills (English B2+)
