We’re building the real-time graph of all general physical trade. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you design, build, and deploy product end-to-end on top of it so our customers can extract its full value.

At xNova, we’re building the product team from scratch—using today’s tools and without legacy processes to rewrite. Starting this way lets us move fast and stay focused.

What we’re building

International trade is an opaque system, full of actors with different incentives; our graph makes it readable and actionable.

To build and leverage that graph, we need to ingest and unify highly heterogeneous sources, sustain data quality at scale, model it in real time, and then build on top of it the ML models, the agents that interact with it, and the product through which different users and use cases extract value.

What you’ll do

As an FDE, you work closely embedded with customer teams. At any given moment, different areas will carry more workload, and the idea is that you move to where you can add the most value. You’ll work autonomously: you identify where the value is and build the solution from start to finish.

This isn’t about efficiently closing tickets—it’s about defining what needs to be built—and why—to create high-value solutions.

It’s a generalist role with a dominant orientation , where you’ll operate across several fronts, with more or less depth depending on the moment:

Customer contact to find their problems and solve them

End-to-end developments , conceived and initiated by you

Data world : ingestion, pipelines, and quality

Maintenance and improvement of the service you build

Market research : discovering and integrating new flows, sources, and providers

Machine learning

Agentic features

You prototype fast and take things to production—for internal use and for customers. This is a creation role: you learn by building.

Three baseline, non-negotiable criteria:

Agency. You move autonomously, spot opportunities, and unblock problems without waiting for constant instructions.

Product mindset. You don’t just build technically; you understand the impact on the customer, the business, and the user experience.

Solid technical foundation. Strong training or experience in engineering, data science, machine learning, or software building.

You can come from very different backgrounds—software, data, product, design. What matters to us isn’t your degree, but that you want to create value and can obsess over a problem.
