Experteer Overview
In this role you advance the state of the art in ML by pursuing introspection, robustness, and new architectures. You will work within the Machine Learning Research team in Barcelona to shape research that informs future Apple products while publishing and presenting at top venues. You collaborate with world-class researchers and engineers, translate bold ideas into real-world impact, and mentor peers. The role emphasizes rigorous experimentation, scalable analysis, and partnership with engineering and product teams to ensure privacy and quality. You will drive meaningful innovations that reach millions of users.

• Identify gaps in the research landscape and define a research agenda
• Design, run, and analyze scalable experiments from prototypes to robust implementations
• Prepare technical reports and publish findings in papers and at conferences
• Provide technical mentorship to peers and partner teams
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate research outcomes into Apple products




• Work on interpretability and introspection of large neural networks
• Train large-scale models including distributed training and efficiency techniques
• Explore alternative architectures to attention-based models (e.g., state-space models, recurrent or linear-attention variants)

Responsabilidades
• In-depth expertise in ML and DL with experience in transformers, diffusion, or SSM architectures
• Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, probability, and statistics
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow
• Strong publication record in top ML venues
• Ability to formulate research problems, design experiments, and implement end-to-end solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and disciplines
