Experteer Overview
As Lead Civil Engineer at Hitachi Energy’s Madrid Center of Excellence, you will be the civil engineering authority for HV/MV substations across Europe, driving safe, high-quality, and cost-effective designs from concept to as-built. You’ll work with international project teams, customers, and suppliers to guide technical decisions and ensure scope integrity. The role blends design, construction, and technical leadership, contributing to the energy transition. You’ll lead complex projects and shape engineering practices within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

• Coordinate and lead civil engineering activities for substation and power quality projects
• Ensure quality, completeness, and functionality of the civil scope throughout project execution
• Deliver civil designs, calculations, and documentation from basic engineering to as-built
• Provide technical guidance during engineering, procurement, and construction phases
• Support project and contract managers on scope changes, claims, risks, costs,



and schedule impacts
• Prepare civil work plans, resource estimates, and risk assessments
• Support site activities through planning, supervision, reporting, and issue resolution
• Coach and support engineers and project teams to strengthen customer relationships

Responsabilidades
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• More than 10 years of experience in civil engineering and/or site construction for HV/MV substations
• Strong expertise in substation civil design, engineering, and construction execution
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and external engineering partners
• Knowledge of BIM methodology
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
